Quick start · Step 3 of 4
Add your locations
A location is anywhere you hold stock or ship orders from: your own warehouse or store, a 3PL, or Amazon. In the app, locations are called facilities. Your account starts with one local facility named OMNIO inventory Location.
To add one, go to Supply Chain › Facilities and click Create Facility. Then pick the type that matches the location:
A warehouse, store or stock room you manage yourself. You keep its stock up to date in OmniOrders.
- In Create Facility, choose Local Facility and click Install.
- Type a Name and Description, then click Save. It shows up as Active right away.
Use names you'll recognize in a dropdown, such as "LA - Main Warehouse" or "NYC - Store".
A warehouse run by a fulfillment partner, such as Shipedge, Softeon WMS or Shelfpoint. Its stock syncs into OmniOrders, orders can be sent to it to ship, and tracking comes back.
- In Create Facility, pick your 3PL's system and click Install.
- Enter the login details your 3PL gave you. For Shipedge, that's your Shipedge username and password; then choose the warehouse to connect.
- The location shows as Pending until its connection is verified, then as Active.
Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment lets you use your FBA inventory for orders from your other channels. Amazon picks, packs and ships them.
- In Create Facility, choose Amazon MCF and click Install.
- Fill in the connection details it asks for, then save.
How stock flows into OmniOrders
- Connected locations (a 3PL or Amazon MCF) send their stock levels into OmniOrders automatically.
- Local locations hold the stock you enter yourself, by importing products (step 2) or adjusting quantities.
- OmniOrders then sends the available stock out to your channels, for every channel with Sync Inventory turned on.
Link locations to your channel
Tell your channel which location's stock to show. For Shopify: on the Shopify integration's Settings tab, under Sync Inventory, choose the Shopify location in Location Id and your facility in iLoc From, tick Sync Inventory, and click Save Changes.
Add a contact and an address
A new location only asks for a name and a description, but purchase orders and transfers sent to it need an email, a first and last name, a street, a city and a country. Add them from the location's settings (the gear icon next to it in the list), so they're ready when you need them.
